Offer some ideas about what can be done to stop the infinite mana issue so the AA doesn't get nerfed to uselessness.

I don't have the AA yet so I don't have any input on it. I can tell you this though, Elidroth will look at serious ideas and see what can work. He's not going to leave Deathbloom alone though.

My main is an SK and we took a hit on Mortal Coil and the initial nerf made it useless but after getting constructive input from the SK community it is still a very usefull AA to have.

Default what happened to our dps

I hadnt been playing as much for a bit, came back recently and I do like the DB AA and see youall talking about it, but whattheheck? happened to our dps (even with this increased mana) compared to other classes

I see everyone talking about it in this thread, but still i was quite surprised to see that even on huge mobs in several raids I have attended, necro dps (not just my gimpy self) seems very average as best - at least what I have seen. Why is that?

Its not infinite mana.
Why are sk's posting here spreading lies?
If you played a necro main you'd know this.
On endurance fights you can still run into mana problems.

The word "infinite" has a precise meaning. This spell is very "finite."

It's not infinite, but even if it were..it's not the block to necro dps and mana never has been the block. It's been dot durations. You top out as a necro when you have to start refreshing dots. The finite/infinite argument is an argument over the duration at which a necro can sustain it's optimum dot cycle.

This debate is all foolishness IMO. Necros are supposed to be sustained dps and edge out other classes over time. If a necro is a position or state where it can not do that, the amount of mana regen afforded to the class is insufficient by definition and stated function of the class.

If you can afford to blow 5 AAs per event on Glyph of the Cataclysm and have a decent lineup/gear/timing, you can keep up...

Sure felt like that to me in SoD...

Edit: Or maybe I just got spoiled during the short period where I was able to burn glyphs every event, and my e-peen got sad without 'em.

i'm sure some people would like to, but since i can count on 1 finger that actually has fuvi written on it with a sharpie the number of people i know of personally that burn glyphs on every single raid event, it's unrealistic in my opinion.

but i mean hey, i also know someone who buys a crazy out of mana potions and downs those regularly. you'd also have to include kiss of emarr, and hp familiars, because they effect parses too.

basically, i'm saying i think there's just way too much outside 1-time or long refresh influences to consider them in game balancing. but obviously, i don't work for the game balancing department so who knows what they decide =) they probably just throw darts at something.

P.S.- Seriously though, of course they don't deliberately balance any class around abilities such as those. If glyphs were allowed to be considered in class balance, rogues would be much more powerful than they are now~~
